Cycle over multiple iconic Dolomite passes without cars. From Passo Falzarego to Valparola, this is a once-a-year chance to ride in pure alpine silence.
The 2026 Dolomites Bike Day will be held on June 20th and allows cyclists of all abilities to enjoy closed roads on three giant passes set in some of the most wonderful scenery on earth. From Corvara, crossing the Passo Campolongo, Passo Falzarego and Passo Valparola on the same roads used by the Maratona dles Dolomites this is an amazing opportunity to ride without traffic, surrounded by other cyclists doing the same thing you love.
With no pressure to complete the ride in a fast time, it is a day to enjoy life on two wheels and soak up the stunning scenery of the Dolomites. The event is free, and there’s no need to sign up. Just bring your bike and enjoy swinging through hairpin bends, cresting giant passes, and swooping down breathtaking descents, all on car-free roads for just one lap or maybe more.
The Routes
The route is composed of a 51km loop linking the Val Badia towns of Corvara, Arabba, La Villa and San Cassiano via three fantastic mountain passes. Riding anticlockwise, the first climb on the route from Corvara is the Passo Campolongo with its series of 13 fantastic switchbacks set in the first two kilometres.
After a fast descent through Arabba, you continue to lose altitude until you hit the valley floor before embarking on the toughest climb of the route, the Passo Falzarego. Never too steep but quite long, at close to 12 kilometres it is a wonderful journey through hairpins and tunnels to the cafés at the summit. To complete the 1370 metres of climbing, you must now reach the top of the Passo Valparola, which in places is as steep as 15% before rocketing down the exhilarating descent to La Villa and finish on the gradual climb to close the loop back in Corvara.

"This is the second time I have done the Maratona with CyclingHero and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Their passion for cycling in beautiful parts of Italy shines through."

“Even though it wasn't a guided trip, it always felt like they were near with support when we needed it on the road, or post-ride. Using the CyclingHero app to plan our routes every day was awesome. It was like ‘choose your own adventure.’ But best of all, the trip made me a better and more confident cyclist.”
