Starting from the flatlands near Venice, and climbing up to the Cima Grappa, this itinerary has it all. Blessed with an overabundance of beautiful vistas, charming towns, and challenging climbs, the North East Veneto appears to have been created specifically with cyclists in mind.

Leaving the Eastern side of the Prosecco Hills, the route migrates Westward to the cycling hotbed of Bassano del Grappa. In between, there is something for everyone: flat roads, winding roads, short steep climbs, longer climbs, quaint towns, great food and drink, and wonderful places to stay.

    Andiamo!

    Warm-up in a Cycling Paradise

From Treviso, the hometown of Pinarello, a short ride brings you past the beautiful Pinarello flagship store located just outside of town. The route then heads to the edge of the Montello where there is the option to stretch the legs on the climb that featured in the 1985 World Championship Road Race.

After passing over the Piave River at Ponte della Priula it's time to enter the Prosecco Hills via a climb up to the beautiful Collalto castle before reaching the charming village of Soligo.

    Secret Hills

This day we get deep into the vine-clad hills above Vittorio Veneto. Along the way there is the option to take on the Passo San Boldo, a road so spectacularly engineered that you scarcely believe it could exist at all, much less be built in 100 days.

The ride continues with a visit to Vittorio Veneto, a beautiful town that was the site of the last battle with the Austrians during World War I. It's also possible to take on your own personal battle a bit further on by climbing the Ca' del Poggio, a short but intense effort through the grape vines. From here it's a mostly downhill run back to Soligo for relaxation over a glass of Prosecco or other refreshing beverage of choice.

From the Prosecco to the Asolani Hills

This ride explores the valleys and hills of the Western side of the Prosecco Hills around Valdobbiadene, before crossing the Piave River and entering another beautiful area around the town of Asolo.

The most challenging option sends you up to the Pianezze for spectacular views that stretch all the way to Venice on a clear day. There is also an option to climb the Forcella Mostaccin before the final ascent into Asolo, the town of 100 views ("Cento Orizzonti"), considered one of the most beautiful small towns in Italy.

Exploring the Land of the Cycling Heroes

Today there is climbing on the program, how much is up to you.

For those wanting a tamer challenge, a scenic loop takes you up to the Canova Temple in Possagno, before hugging the slopes of the Monte Grappa into Bassano del Grappa. From here an option takes you to the other side of the Brenta River and on to the town of Marostica, then a climb up La Rosina before returning to Bassano.

For the most ambitious, the imposing Monte Grappa awaits with its 17 km and 1500 m of altitude change. Whichever route you decide to take, a cool Aperitivo with beautiful views awaits your arrival back in Asolo.
