The riding around Bassano del Grappa is outstanding, as is the town of Bassano itself. Day-to-Day Schedule
Leaving Treviso after an optional visit to the beautiful Pinarello flagship store, there is a first taste of the hills in the Montello, before visiting neighboring Montebelluna, the sport-shoe mecca of Italy. After a coffee and cake in the main square of picturesque Asolo its on to the nearby town of Bassano del Grappa, famous for the 'Alpini' military division, and of course for the potent Grappa spirit with which it shares it's name.
Bassano is a great base for cycling, as it offers a lot of riding options. A wonderful shorter loop takes in Marostica and the climbs of San Luca and La Rosina. A more challenging option is a loop ride up to the Asiago plains via the sinuous Valstagna to Foza climb. For the most ambitious, the climb to the ossuary of the fabled Monte Grappa awaits.
Just make sure to leave enough time and energy to explore Bassano with its multitude of bars, restaurants, and boutique shops.
Leaving Bassano, a short optional climb back up to nearby Asolo is rewarded with beautiful views and a morning espresso in the main square of this charming town. Continuing east, you have the option of doing a bit more climbing up to the Canova monument in Possagno, or heading directly over the river Piave and reaching the town of Valdobbiadene, ground zero of Prosecco winemaking.
You'll have plenty of time to pick up your event pack before enjoying a nice glass of the wine that has made Valdobbiadene famous.
Enjoy the peerless Prosecco Cycling event as it snakes its way through the heart of the Prosecco Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ride through some stunning scenery, tackle a few climbs, and enjoy a glass or two of the bubbly stuff along the way. The CyclingHero team will be on hand to help with any last-minute requirements before the start, and also at the finish to take part in the festivities.
After a last breakfast, it’s time to head back to Venice for your trip home or further explorations in the area.
