Day-to-Day Schedule

Day
1
Dolomites warm up rides

An early afternoon transfer from Treviso brings you to the heart of the Dolomites. Take your time to settle in and set up your bike. If you'd like to stretch your legs and test your equipment, we have two routes for you to choose from.

The first option takes you to the charming village of San Cassiano and the Armentarola valley.

For a bit more of a challenge, head up the Passo Campolongo. While it's considered one of the easier passes in the area, don't underestimate the first few switchbacks—they can still sting the legs!

Sellaronda ride and the Passo Giau

Today, get ready to experience “the most beautiful bike ride in the world”—the Sellaronda, a loop around the stunning Sella Group mountains.

Whether you choose to ride clockwise or counterclockwise, you’ll conquer some of the area’s most iconic climbs, including Passo Gardena, Passo Sella, Passo Pordoi, and Passo Campolongo. If you choose the counterclockwise direction, you'll be riding the classic Sellaronda route that is ridden during the car-free bike days taking place in June and September.

For an added challenge, you can extend your ride by combining the Sellaronda with the Passo Falzarego or Passo Giau. The ascent to Passo Giau is demanding, but the breathtaking views from the top are among the most rewarding in the Dolomites.

Warm up ride or Passo Falzarego

For today’s ride, we have a few options depending on how much you want to challenge yourself:

Route A is a pleasant warm-up that takes you down the Alta Badia valley. At Zwischenwasser (German for "the town between the waters"), a right turn leads you to the picturesque, Austrian-style village of San Vigilio di Marebbe. From there, the ride continues with a gradual ascent into the Pederu valley. Enjoy the peaceful journey through lush forests on a quiet, limited-access road, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this hidden gem.

Route B starts with an ascent of the Passo Campolongo before tackling Passo Falzarego and Passo Valparola. Be sure to keep your momentum at the top of Falzarego, as Valparola begins shortly afterward. Although the Valparola Pass from this side is short, it’s a steep one that your legs will remember!

Route C follows the same path as Route B but in reverse, adding an extra layer of challenge. NOTE: Use caution on Passo Valparola as there is road construction above San Cassiano.

From the Val Badia to Merano

The main challenge on this day comes early, with a climb out of Corvara up to the Passo Val Gardena. From here it's all downhill until meeting the Eisack River Valley, where the route flattens out and follows a bike path to Bolzano.

Leaving Bolzano the route joins another riverside bike path, this time next to the river Adige, for a beautiful mostly flat run all the way to Merano. Round out the day with a visit to Merano's renowned thermal baths, or drop by the Forst beer hall for a cool one.

Today is a day to enjoy the exceptional spa facilities of your hotel. But if you want to mix in some riding, there are a few options to choose from. Option A is a short loop to the Forst brewery, a beautiful historic building just outside of Meran. Option B takes you up to the Passo Palade, one of the most popular rides in the area. Option C is a challenging loop that heads into the hills Southeast of Meran.

The Stelvio Pass awaits

A steady uphill ride along the Adige River Valley to Prato allo Stelvio is a perfect warm-up for your challenge ahead. A shorter option is possible that involves a shuttle to the marble town of Lasa.

From Prato allo Stelvio the (in)famous switchbacks that lead to the Stelvio summit start. There are 48 of them in total, so manage your effort and leave something for the final push to the summit of one of the highest paved roads in Europe.

Congratulations, you have conquered one of THE iconic ascents of the cycling world! Take a moment to soak it all in before enjoying the equally spectacular descent into Bormio.

Epic Climbs

The Queen Stage loop is nothing short of monumental, taking on first the relentless Passo del Mortirolo before following up with the grand finale, the Passo Gavia from the classic side out of Ponte di Legno. For something a little less ambitious, head down the valley to Mazzo and just tackle the Mortirolo before returning to Bormio along the Valtellina Valley.
